"Suspended in A" is one original tune in A major, and this post hands you all three of its guitar parts. The title pulls double duty: the chords are suspended ones — sus2 and sus4 — and the whole tune has that floating, suspended feel, the sound of a chord leaning out and then settling home. Underneath every part is the same harmony: A – D – E, a plain I – IV – V, dressed up with those suspensions and a couple of extra colors.
The three Threads are the same changes in three different roles, and they stack into one piece of music.
The foundation, and the most approachable place to start — A, D and E as arpeggiated open chords, each one leaned out to its sus and resolved home, broken-chord picked so you actually hear the suspension move.
The same A – D – E harmony reshaped as compact, movable three-note triads on the D-G-B strings, walked up the neck and given their own colors — the same suspend-and-resolve idea inside a shape you can slide.
One chord-tone lick re-aimed over each chord — pick the 5th, pick a note already pre-bent up to the 3rd, then resolve to the root — so a single repeating move tracks A, D and E as a melody on top. The pre-bend is the technique to chase here, and it's the most demanding of the three parts.
