“Springtime” is a great beginner tune in 6/8 time.
You only need one finger, since you’re just playing on the G, B, and high E strings. Focus on keeping that finger nicely curved so the B string rings clearly — don’t let it get muted by accident.
Because it’s in 6/8, feel it as two big pulses per measure (1-2-3, 4-5-6), not six disconnected notes. Let it flow.
Try to memorize the pattern so you’re not staring at the fretboard. Once it feels comfortable, play it along with a drum beat or metronome. That’s where the real progress happens — locking your timing into something steady instead of playing it in isolation.
Slow and clean first. Then smooth. Then musical.
